Unpacked is an interview series series where I share an intimate glimpse into how travel savvy humans with excellent taste pack for their getaways.
Like anyone, I have my travel goals—and one of them is to be a chic traveler. You know, the kind of woman who packs light yet always looks put together, who nails effortless airport style, and knows how to create a capsule wardrobe that works everywhere. When I think of this type of traveler, one woman comes to mind… India Cardona.

India is one of those people who makes every corner of her life feel like an editorial spread (I’m sorry, but does that train photo not look like a modern day version of something you’d see on Downton Abbey!?). When I first discovered her newsletter EDITED, I was taken aback by how effortlessly romantic it all felt. In a world that’s obsessed with efficiency—especially when it comes to travel—India’s corner of the internet is like a breath of fresh air, reminding us that travel is a luxury, and we should treat it as such. I am beyond excited for her to share her packing tips and tricks with you. - Alex
What's your go-to luggage and why?
I love the large Antler suitcase. I have absolutely no issues filling it up, plus it has an extender for new holiday purchases! I also always use the Antler packing cubes.
What's always in your toiletries bag?
List of my go-to non-negotiables are:
Mini La Bonne Brosse Hairbrush
Tongue Scraper
Describe your basic packing strategy…
I dedicate one side to all my clothes which are individually rolled in categories so I can see exactly what I have. On the other side is wash bags, shoes and packing cubes also categorised into groups such as workout, tech, accessories and jewellery.
Do you have a travel uniform?
I don't tend to have one set travel uniform but I often reach for my With Nothing Underneath Trousers because they look smart but are so warm and comfortable, they honestly almost feel like tracksuit bottoms.
What 5 things does your carry on always include?
My film camera, iPad, AirPods Max and jewellery without fail. Plus my Louis Vuitton passport cover which I recently discovered you can get travel stamped for free in Louis Vuitton boutiques around the world. I need to get collecting!
How do you navigate the shoe situation?
As shoes are often heavy, for a longer trip I'll ensure I also have a carry-on suitcase which I'll fill with footwear. It also means if I'm bringing any luxury shoes, they aren't going in the hold.
Any packing tricks or hacks?
If I know I'm going to be doing some shopping abroad, I will bring a foldable holdall so I have an extra piece of luggage on my way home.
A HUGE thank you to India for inviting us into her packing world. Be sure to subscribe to Edited for more recommendations, edits and casual conversation around travel & lifestyle.

What do you use the packing cubes for if you are rolling your clothes on the one side of the suitcase?
Thank you for the generous feature! Wish I was a light packer though… 💛💛💛
