Checking In: Atelier Ines, Naples
an art gallery, a showroom and a jewelry boutique with six bespoke rooms and suites in the heart of Naples.
Checking In is a series where we do a short and sweet deep dive into some of my favorite hotels, B&Bs and vacation rentals.
In Short… Atelier Inès is both a working artists studio and a charming B&B located in the heart of the most authentic district of Naples: Rione Sanità. A delightful home base during our time in Naples.
The Vibes… Atelier Inès is tucked behind wrought-iron gates just steps from the hustle and bustle of ancient Naples. Fruit stalls, butchers, fishmongers and market stands line the streets, but in this beautiful open air garden it’s nothing but peace and quiet. Enjoy a glass of wine in the garden as second-generation family artist Vincenzo Oste works in his studio. stark contrast to the more touristy hotels that line the water, this impossibly chic B&B feels like you are staying at your cool friend’s family home.
The Rooms… Each of the six rooms is completely different and decorated with pieces handcrafted by owners Annibale and Vincenzo Oste. From doorknobs to furniture, every element brought into the space is thoughtfully curated to make you feel at home.
The Food…My favorite thing about staying at local B&B is that the owner is usually a foodie and friends with all of the best local chefs. When we first arrived at Atelier Ines we were deciding where to have dinner and mentioned a place that was on quite a few lists. Annibale immediately shook her head and goes “No. You must go to Mimi alla Ferrovia. I will call the owner and see if he can squeeze you in.” This is my love language. I adore when someone knows they are an expert in something and simply will not allow you to make the wrong choice.
The only meal offered at Atelier Ines is a simple but delicious breakfast set amidst large sculptures in their courtyard. Canned cocktails and wine are available for evening aperitivos.
Parting words…If you want to feel like a local in Naples, this is your spot. It doesn’t have the sea views that the more notorious hotels along the Lungomare do, but you feel the vibrancy of the city at every corner.
Dates of stay… September 2024
